# Lowbird MCP server

Lowbird tracks Amazon prices over time and finds real deals for what people are interested in. Its MCP
server lets an AI assistant check whether a price is really good, find price drops, track products with
a target price and show the deals for the user's interests.

## Addresses

- **Main (sign-in):** `https://mcp.lowbird.app` — remote MCP server, Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1. The user
signs in with Google (the same account as the Lowbird web app, Telegram bot and browser extension) and
  approves the assistant once.
- **Public (no account):** `https://mcp.lowbird.app/public` — price data only (search, product, history,
  drops, start tracking).

OAuth metadata: `https://mcp.lowbird.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource` (protected resource,
RFC 9728) and `https://auth.lowbird.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server` (RFC 8414). Dynamic client
registration and Client ID Metadata Documents are supported; PKCE S256 is required.

## Connect

- **Claude (web, desktop, mobile):** Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, URL
`https://mcp.lowbird.app`, then Connect and sign in. Pre-filled link:
- **Claude Code:** `claude mcp add --transport http lowbird https://mcp.lowbird.app`
- **ChatGPT (paid plans):** Settings → Apps & connectors → Advanced → developer mode → Create; paste the
URL and choose OAuth. Enable Lowbird in the chat.
- **Cursor:** in `mcp.json`: `{"mcpServers": {"lowbird": {"url": "https://mcp.lowbird.app"}}}`
- **VS Code:** in `.vscode/mcp.json`: `{"servers": {"lowbird": {"type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.lowbird.app"}}}`
- **Any other MCP client** with remote servers and OAuth: use the main URL.

## Tools

Without signing in:

- `search_products` — search tracked Amazon products (current price, 90-day low/high/average).
- `get_product` — one product by Amazon link, ASIN or Lowbird id, with a verdict on the current price.
- `price_history` — daily price history (up to 180 days).
- `price_drops` — products now below their 30-day median, optionally filtered by words.
- `track_product` — add an Amazon product to Lowbird's catalog.
- `show_products` — show chosen products (ids, links or ASINs, up to 10) as a carousel.

Signed in, also:

- `my_deals_feed` — deals matching the user's interests.
- `list_interests`, `add_interest` (plain words, e.g. "hiking backpacks under 80 euros"),
  `pause_interest`, `remove_interest`.
- `list_watches`, `watch_product` (optional `target_price`), `unwatch_product`.
- `recent_alerts` — the user's latest price alerts.

Hosts that support MCP Apps (Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code…) render a product card with a price chart for
`get_product` and a carousel for `my_deals_feed` and `show_products` (`ui://lowbird/product`,
`ui://lowbird/deals`); the other tools return data only, so the assistant shows products when the user wants
to see or compare them. Hosts without MCP Apps get text and structured content.

## Rules for answers

- Always show when a price was recorded (`price_checked_at`) next to the price: prices may change.
- Link products with the `url` returned by the tools (the Lowbird product page, which has the buy link).
- Include the affiliate disclosure once: "As an Amazon Associate, Lowbird earns from qualifying
  purchases."

## Privacy

A connected assistant sees the user's tracked products, interests and alerts, and can track products and
save interests on their behalf. The user can disconnect it at any time from the web app
(`https://app.lowbird.app/account`); its tokens stop working immediately.
